On 15 Aug., the "Special" singer released the bridal-themed visual for her song "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)," complete with an elaborate floral wedding ceremony. However, Lizzo quickly abandons the scene for a solo road trip and a rendezvous with Beckford in the desert (which turns out to be a fantasy). Instead of getting hitched in the video, Lizzo, with her bridesmaids in tow, opts for a glamorous beach party where she happily belts out the lyrics to "2 Be Loved."
The day before the music video's premiere, Lizzo teased its arrival on social media with a short preview set to her Grammy-winning hit "Truth Hurts." "ARE YOU READY..? THE '2 B LOVED' MUSIC VIDEO IS COMING . . . 👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾👰🏾," she captioned an Instagram post.
"2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" is the newest video to arrive from Lizzo, following the highly anticipated release of her fourth studio album on 15 July. The pop star rolled out the red carpet for her "Special" album with several pop-up appearances to promote the new project, which included her crashing a live Peloton ride and surprising some of her biggest fans during a game of "Undercover Sing" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Before her album's release, Lizzo dropped a visual for "About Damn Time" on 14 April.
