I Tried Model Kelly Gale's Ab Workout, and I'll Let You Know When My Core Stops Shaking

The fun thing about ab workouts is that there's so much you can do to challenge and strengthen your core with zero equipment necessary. Take this 10-minute workout shared by Swedish supermodel Kelly Gale and her trainer Emily Samuels, for example. Ten minutes, four moves, bodyweight-only, and it completely toasted my abs.

Gale's workout is made up of one four-move set that you repeat twice through, doing each exercise for 40 seconds followed by a 20-second rest that I absolutely cherished. I loved that rest period. I used it to lie on my floor, stare at the ceiling, and wait for my abs to stop shaking. Because even though there are only four moves in this workout, each one targeted my abs from a different angle and had me feeling the burn deep into my core. The exercises are:

  • Jackknife
  • Leg lift
  • Flutter kicks
  • Side plank with twist, right side
  • Side plank with twist, left side
